Inside Chubb Bulleid’s brand and digital transformation.

A Somerset law firm with over 150 years behind it and a website that looked a decade old. We rebuilt the brand and the site around one promise: clear legal advice, trusted for the long term.

Chubb Bulleid is a firm of solicitors with offices in Street, Somerton, Taunton and Wells. For over 150 years, people and businesses across Somerset have trusted them with the things that matter most: homes, wills, family, farms and the companies they have built.

The challenge was that none of that came across online. The old site was dark, cluttered and generic, with a lime green logo and stock sunsets doing the talking for a firm whose real strength is quiet, long-term trust.

Our mission? Give Chubb Bulleid an identity that looks like the firm its clients already know, then build a website that makes finding the right solicitor feel simple.

Visual branding and positioning

We spent time with the partners and the people on reception, because that is where the firm’s character lives. What came back, again and again, was the same thing: clients stay for decades. So the positioning became clear legal advice, trusted for the long term.

The identity moved away from bright green and black to a palette drawn from the Somerset landscape: tweed green, country coral, sage and tan. A confident wordmark set in Brooklyn replaced the old green monogram, with Manrope for everything else.

Tone of voice: plain English, kind, and never hiding behind legal jargon. If a line would not be said across a desk in Wells, it did not make the cut.

Website design

The homepage opens on Glastonbury Tor, filmed from the air, with the firm’s promise over the top. From there the site splits the way clients think: for you, and for your business.

Every service page follows the same pattern, so a first-time visitor can find residential conveyancing or employment law in two clicks, see who they will be dealing with, and ask a question without filling in a form the length of a lease.

Photography of the real team and the real county, not stock sunsets, so the site looks like the firm people actually walk into.

Website development

Built on WordPress with a custom theme, so the firm can publish its own articles and keep fees and timescales up to date without calling us.

Every service and sector page shares one template, so adding a new area of law is an afternoon, not a rebuild. Smooth on-scroll animation throughout, and fast on a phone in a field, which in Somerset is not a hypothetical.
